Law Clerk

Genesis Palma a legal assistant at Alami Law. She is the daughter of immigrant parents from Mexico and El Salvador. She is the first in her family to graduate from college and law school.

Her passion for immigration law stems from personal experience. She witnessed her mother’s immigration status go from undocumented to naturalization. She understands that her mother’s story is one of the lucky ones but she believes every immigrant has the right to have a fighting chance. As a result, she decided to go to law school.

While in law school, Genesis served as the Secretary and Co-President of the Immigration Law Society. She also regularly visited the Otay Mesa Detention Center near the US-Mexican border where she witnessed the immigration process from a grim perspective. In 2019, Genesis earned her Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law. Genesis continues to be passionate about immigration law and has worked in several roles throughout Southern California.

In her down time, Genesis likes to read, watch television and film, and practice yoga. She enjoys traveling and learning about new cultures. Her favorite cities are: New York, Albuquerque, Rome, Paris, Tokyo, and Cusco.
