Denissa Juarez Garcia is a legal assistant at Alami Law. She was born in Sinaloa, Mexico and immigrated to the U.S at only a week old. Her family settled in Lynwood, California where she was raised. After graduating high school, Denissa attended Compton College where she obtained her Associates of Arts in Psychology, then transferred to the University of California, Merced where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a double minor in Political Science and Sociology. During her time at UC Merced, she interned with the university’s law clinic, later becoming student director of the Immigration Law Clinic on campus. She then went on to work with the non-profit, Kids in Need of Defense and the Merced’s Superior Court as an interpreter. Denissa received her immigration experience after working for an immigration law firm in Merced before joining the Alami Law team. Denissa is working towards attending law school to become an immigration attorney in the future.
