Lázaro Luquin is a Legal Assistant at Alami Law. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California to immigrant parents seeking better living conditions and opportunities for their families. His father was born in Colima, Mexico, while his mother was born in La Unión, El Salvador. Throughout his childhood, Lázaro witnessed the challenges facing the Latino and immigration communities, which inspired him to be a part of the change needed for these vulnerable populations.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California State University, Los Angeles. His primary focus was the discrimination faced by minorities, specifically Latinos, within the criminal justice system. He was driven to create change that led to equality and eliminated discrimination. He participated in the Criminal Justice Student Association, which focused on expanding knowledge of criminal justice, and also in campaigns that were geared toward disseminating legal information and rights to the community.

Lazaro later joined the immigration field and has gained extensive experience with family-based petitions as well as removal defense before the immigration courts in both detained and non-detained settings. His experiences throughout his youth, as well as the knowledge gained throughout his career, have led him to be an advocate and voice for the immigrant community.
