Born and raised in California to Mexican parents from Guadalajara Jalisco, Gandell earned her Associate of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from Rio Hondo College, where she later transferred and earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from California State University. California, Dominguez Hills.
She has advocated for the release of the caged children in 2018, which made her a liaison with the office of then US Senator Kamala Harris, and has been advocating for the immigrant community ever since.
In her spare time, Gandell enjoys going to concerts, reading, traveling, and hanging out with her family and friends.
