Ana Jazmín Mercado was born in Jalisco, Mexico and brought to the United States at the young age of 3, she is a proud DACA recipient and the daughter of hard-working immigrant parents. Graduating with a BA in Sociology, Latino and Contemporary Latin American Studies from the University of Southern California in 2019, during her time in college, Ana passionately advocated for immigrant rights on and off campus. She volunteered with local organizations like CARECEN and CHIRLA to provide community members with access to legal services. He also founded and led a campus student organization, IDEAS at USC, which advocated for undocumented students in higher education. Prior to joining Alami Law in March 2020, Ana served as a paralegal at the USC Gould Immigration Legal Assistance Center and the Valdez Law Firm. Ana hopes to enter law school in the near future with hopes of becoming an immigration attorney.
