Paola I. Neri is an Associate Attorney at Alami Law. Her practice focuses on handling multiple aspects of immigration and nationality law, including but not limited to family-based petitions, removal defense, motions, legal briefs, appeals, U Visas, waivers of inadmissibility, and attorney appearances for residency, naturalization, and Enforcement and Removal Operations.
Ms. Neri earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, and was admitted to the California State Bar in 2012. Before law school, Ms. Neri volunteered her time at the Legal Aid Society of San Diego, Inc. at the Conservatorship Clinic in Probate Court. Ms. Neri assisted Ms. Susanne Hilles, now an Administrative Court Judge for the Department of Social Services, in translating and providing information for participants who were Spanish-speaking and wished to petition for conservatorship or guardianship of their family member who was developmentally disabled, seriously impaired, incapacitated, or suffered mental health issues. Before joining Alami Law, Ms. Neri was an Associate Attorney at Law Office of Enrique Arevalo in South Pasadena, California.
Ms. Neri grew up in San Diego, California, after immigrating from Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, at the age of five. Raised by a single mother in a working-class home, Ms. Neri has a rich understanding of the obstacles that many immigrants face in this country. As an attorney, Ms. Neri is committed to ensuring that her community has access to zealous legal representation and is well-informed. Ms. Neri has continued to apply herself to achieve the utmost level of legal knowledge and personal growth.
Ms. Neri earned her B.A., Magna cum laude, in 2008 from the University of California, Irvine, with a major in Criminology, Law, and Society, where she was Phi Beta Kappa. Ms. Neri is an active member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association where she serves as a Law Student Liaison. Ms. Neri is admitted to the United States District Court, Southern District of California. She is fluent in the Spanish language.
