“I first visited the law office of attorney, Amira Al-Alami, back in 2012 after President Obama announced his plan for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). I was looking for a lawyer to review my case and file DACA for me and my siblings. A friend of mine, who at the time had just finished UCLA Law school, recommended I go see Amira Al-Alami.

I called the office and was greeted by her office manager, Rosario Camacho. She was extremely courteous and professional; I immediately felt that I was going to be in good hands. I went ahead and scheduled a consultation with Amira.

The consultation went well. My family updated Amira on our history. She asked us many questions as well as encouraged us to ask her questions. She was very thorough and made sure we left well informed. She confirmed our eligibility for DACA. We all decided to have the office of Amira Al-Alami represent us throughout the DACA process. After the consultation, I was in constant communication with Amira and Rosario.

I’d like to say that Rosario is wonderful! She has always been very helpful and knowledgeable; she quickly answered all the questions I had. When there was a question she was not sure about, she was very diligent in confirming the proper information with the attorney and getting back to me in a timely manner. The turnaround time was so short, they made me feel like I was their only client.

I know they are extremely busy and I am truly amazed at their ability to maintain such a personal level of communication with their clients. In the middle of the process of filing my DACA, they gave me the greatest news. They informed me I was eligible to adjust my status through my husband and obtain my greencard. My husband and I had given up the idea of adjusting my status. We had been to various lawyers all of which had advised us to just wait for immigration reform. At first I was a bit hesitant to file, because it sounded too good to be true. Amira met with us and informed us about the process for my case and answered all our questions. Her knowledge, passion, confidence, and optimism won me over.

My case was not easy, yet Amira took on the challenge. Amira and her team fiercely represented me. I cannot thank them enough for all their hard work. They have changed my life! I will be forever grateful to them. Amira made my dream of permanent residency a reality.

There is no better endorsement than to tell you my brother and sister will be renewing their DACA through Amira Al-Alami.”
